The Rambo Movie

The movie Rambo, also known as Rambo IV: To Hell and Back was released in February of 2008 and is the fourth movie of the Rambo series. The movie starts by showing the crisis/strife in Burma. A group of Christian missionaries and medics approach Rambo requesting he lead them into Burma on a humanitarian mission. The missionaries know the ruler of Burma, Than Shwe, is profoundly anti-democracy and rules with an ironclad fist.

The course chosen, up the Salween River, is a very dangerous route. Pirates stop Rambo's boat refusing them passage unless Rambo gives them Sarah, one of the missionaries. A battle ensues with Rambo killing the Pirates. The missionaries continue on foot through the countryside feeling Rambo's assistance isn’t needed for the return trip.

When the missionaries do not return in 10 days Rambo is asked to find mercenaries to travel to the village where the missionaries were last seen. Rambo decides to go along since the mercenaries were a small troupe of individuals. After arriving at the village, finding death and destruction all around, they move on to save the hostages. Rambo hijacks a truck and heads to the POW camp where the hostages are being held formulating a plan to release them on the way. When the Burmese military realizes the hostages are missing a massive manhunt ensues finding all but Rambo, Sarah, and a school boy. Rambo then hijacks another truck with a machine gun and proceeds to attack the Burmese army. Rebels join the fighting and the Burmese army is defeated.

This film does not shield the public from the hazards of war; in fact, it is a relentless very graphic blood bath action film.
